Location: 50 miles south of Venice, Italy and 12 miles north of Ravenna.
New Venice would be built on 4 square miles of canal-fed farmland that sits directly adjacent to Emilia-Romagna Po Delta Park. The park is a 52,000 hectare wetland adjacent to the coast. It serves as a wildlife protected area that hosts over 280 species of birds, vast areas of oak, ash, and alder forests, reeds, giant water lilies, lagoons, and dunes. Utilizing the existing canal system already in place, New Venice would create a sustainable community that embraces canal living while upholding and celebrating the vast nature preserve to its east.
