ARCHITECTURE 2100
The following is my outline of key architecture industry milestones that are likely to occur in the 21st century. (Written in 2007)
2020 - 3D holographic display / modeling - already in development by DARPA and others.
2025 - A.I. software - intelligent design software that collaborates with user.
2030 - robotic construction - first use of 100% robotic workforce in new construction.
2040 - carbon nanotube materials - first widespread use of nanomaterials in new construction.
2045 - nanoscale systems integration - first new structure built with nanotech monitoring systems integrated throughout.
2055 - rapid robotic construction (10x faster than 1st generation) - first high-speed robotic workforce.
2060 - nanoscale demolition - first demolition of a structure completed on the nanoscale by nanobots.
2070 - nanoscale immersion / retrofitting - first old structure to be upgraded by nanobots using nanomaterials.
2080 - nanoscale construction - first new structure to be built entirely by nanobots using nanomaterials.
2100 - complete fluid environment - first new structure to be entirely customizable on the nanoscale, aesthetically and structurally.
